Medicinal Property |
An
aromatic, bitter, astringent herb that reduces inflammation, increases
perspiration, relieves indigestion and has diuretic effects. It is also
used in lowering blood pressure, relaxing spasms and arresting hemorrhage.
Internally for feverish illness (especially colds, influenza and measles),
catarrh, diarrhoea, dyspepsia, rheumatism, arthritis and menopausal
complaints. Externally for wounds, nosebleeds, ulcers, inflamed eyes and
hemorrhoids. |

The
bitter principle present in this plant ‘Achilleine’, an acid known as
‘Achileic’ and tannin. |
Description |
Hardy
herbaceous perennial plant with aromatic leaves, attain a height of 1 m.
leaves are alternative, deeply divided, simple, graceful and lacy. Stems
are simple and without branches. Flowering stems are erect, stiff, up to
45 cm tall, covered with hairs. Flowers are white appear in dense cluster.
Flower heads are small, stalked, numerous. Fruits are compressed, shining
and smooth. |
